It’s here! We made it!
Strewth hasn’t 2020 turned out to be a real roller coaster. All the way up to the eleventh hour guide Covid lines here in the UK feel like they have been changing at an hourly rate and for many families it’s been a long hard look at what is the right thing for to do for ourselves, our family and the wider community. It’s a Christmas like no other for sure.
But we are here! And I’d like to take this moment to express a heartfelt thanks to all of those who continue to work within the crippling restrictions, with a huge round of appreciation to all of our key workers who are keeping us safe and sane and provided for.
This has been an extraordinary year for all of us, and perhaps this online community has never been so important. I want to express my gratitude for all you who have been part of this tribe this year. I’ve always believed that our homes are at the core of our happiness and well being and the series of lock downs have certainly put that theory to the test.
By the looks of it, this year has seen an unprecedented amount of Christmas decorating over on Instagram! I always love switching up my home for the festive season but this year, confined to my four walls for the last nine months has made me feel propelled to take on herculean amount of Christmas decorations! I’ve been totally inspired by all of you again for your creativity, love of colour and using your homes as the ultimate self expression! Christmas is just a day, but I love how we so many have eeked out wreath making, mantle dressing and bauble bombs and while we haven’t been able to share our homes with friends and family, it’s been great to see them shared with the online community.
While it may feel hard to look on the bright side, one of the positives for me during this different kind of Christmas has been the opportunity to slow down. I’m usually frantic the week up to Christmas day but this scaled down version has allowed me to relax and unwind and enjoy some small pleasures. Arthur and I even have a duvet day planned this week, which feels like the ultimate luxury!
So time to put your feet up and enjoy a few days at home with those who matter. While it may feel like we are going through the most challenging times, I take a moment to feel grateful for all of you.
Merry Christmas!
