It’s here! Its a bit of a pinch me moment but I’ve got my own TV show. All the squeals and a dream come true. The beautiful people at Channel 5 reached out last year and invited me to work on a pioneering new design show. They wanted big reveals, mouthwatering interiors, plenty of tips and insights and not a builders sledge hammer in sight. Like I say- the dream!
The title for the show came right at the last minute, but I think it sums up perfectly what we are aiming to do with this programme. The makeovers are big transformations and our aim is to show how wonderfully eclectic, diverse and often eccentric our interior spaces can be. Walk down ant British street and behind each closed door will be a very different room design. I have always loved that about interiors- that fact that everyone has their own response to colour, style and pattern. What better place to share our sense of style and identity than within our most intimate spaces.
So over the next six weeks you will see me travel up and down the country into many different types of homes, helping people reinvent, reinvigorate and indeed completely transform their spaces. The general theme is that they typically start off beige and boring end up colourful and exceptional. All our home owners used their hard earned savings to complete the projects so they were 100% invested in every single decision. The pressure was on me to get it right for them, but also to push them just outside of their comfort zone. The results are spellbinding. I cannot wait for you to see it and let me know what you think! Book it in Wednesdays, Channel 5 at 7pm, also available to catch up on My5. I will be posting photographs and a list of suppliers for each episode here on the blog so you can learn how I did the design in more depth and if you saw anything you liked, you’ll find the weblink here too.
Meanwhile here is a tease…..
How exciting! Love the look of the teaser trailer and looking forward to watching the show.
Well done you!
Hi Sophie, love your new show! So fabulous to see such inspirational designs. I’d really like to take part in your show. I have a room that needs to double up as a living room/ guest room/ place to do online fitness classes. Be great to hear from you. Really love the bold colours you use and sumptuous fabrics. Thanks so much Neelam
Loving your show and your bold and inspirational designs. Wish I had seen before decorating our bedroom! We spend so much time in our homes they should be beautiful as well as practical. Lots of garden programs yet we probably spend more time indoors so why not more interior design programs.
